WIM HOF WISDOM

Today I jumped on a Zoom call with Wim Hof (the Iceman himself) and some of the other instructors from around the world.

At least 1x per quarter, I enjoy hearing from Wim.

He’s like a kid at heart, always cracking jokes, always just having fun, and his energy is contagious.

There’s a bunch of new studies going on at major universities around the world and he was sharing a few of the results even before they officially get published.

One of the studies compared the experience of doing Wim Hof Breathing + a short cold shower to the practices of mindfulness and meditation.

Without getting too deep into the details of the science of the brain, what the scientists found was that the Wim Hof Method activated the parts of the brain responsible for calming the nervous system more effectively and quicker than mindfulness and meditation. 🧘

While personally, I think ALL of these practices are incredibly effective and help, it is testament once again to just how powerful breathwork and deliberate cold exposure can be.

Like I often say…if people understood just how beneficial it was on their body and mind, they’d never quit.

I’ve met people in our studio with cancer, MS, serious mental health conditions, and every kind of autoimmune disease you can think of and they’ve all told me (sometimes with tears in their eyes) just how much this practice is helping them.

Whether it fully cures them or simply reduces the pain of their ailments, it’s incredible.

How simple.

Get in cold water, and breathe more.

Wim concluded today that we’ll not stop until we help change the world.

I’d honestly say the man fully believes it and is well on his way.
